First Grade

The first grade team encourages students to investigate and explore new things, using our creativity and knowledge to help make our school, world and home a better place to learn. The seven habits help improve ourselves and understand others better.  We are leaders building our confidence to succeed.

The first grade team embraces the departmentalizing program.  This program allows students to have a stable and secure learning environment with the opportunity to develop close personal relationships with their teachers.  Departmentalizing changes the way we think, they are not “my” kids they are “our” kids because we have a shared responsibility as a team to educate all students.

The first grade team utilizes various resources to engage and educate students at home and at school.  Some of the tools we use are monthly family projects and service learning projects in a fun and unique way to keep kids enthusiastic about learning. We also use Seesaw, Raz-Kids and monthly newsletters to create a positive home and school connection.
